Cash in Transit Armed Robbery

But it looked like that one dude shot him point blank in the face?

Nope. The close up one got him in the upper leg, the rest all in the bpv in the chest. All I know is he has a bunch of broken/fractured ribs.

Doesn't appear to be no injury on the face. He touches the neck area looking for blood I think or radio. If blood it must have grazed him

But when he gets up and hops away there is a puddle of blood where his face was.

Go look again.

To me looks like he took one to the head not serious though or he could have coughed up blood which is serious.
Hope he is ok.
The bystanders look suspicious to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they were not only bystanders.

They were as stunned as the guard.

Yeah with a gun going off in such a small space it must have been like a stun grenade. Has anybody managed to find a link to a news article?

From experience, it's not a pleasant experience. It's like sticking your head into the inside of a church bell and having someone beat the shizz out of it.

I thought that might have been like a lanyard.

I also thought so, but when he gets up he grabs all his other stuff and leaves whatever that is behind.
If it was one of his possessions he would have taken it.

If you actually look closely you can see him spitting out some of the blood earlier.

Isn't there normally another guard somewhere? And don't these guys carry assault rifles? Why didn't the other guy shoot the crap out of them?

There are usually 3 guys, but lately I've often only seen two.

1 driver
1 cash-carrier with a pistol
1 guard with a pistol or rifle.

Backup might've been taken out as well, or be involved with robbers. I've heard that many of the CIT robberies are inside-jobs. Don't know whether it's true, but the CIT guys have my respect. All that stress about being shot in cold-blood, burned alive in the vehicle doused in petrol and for very little money. Eish.

it is actually sad to think that those people are just trying to put food on there table or for there family and this is what happens to them

Hectic.

In Durban there are always guys posted outside with rifles, is it deemed too quiet in Roodeport?

Not sure why they didn't take proper precautions. Johannesburg is known for its CIT heists.

Probably find this was one of the locations that was deemed quiet and safe...

In Swakopmund, several years ago (3), I witnessed a G4(s) officer walk across the busy six-laned main-road, with two cash-boxes, one in each hand. He was unarmed, and no bullet proof vehicles or back-up officers in sight. Appeared to me that he was walking to Standard Bank with the boxes....despite not knowing if these boxes were loaded or not, I was still amazed.
