Someone gave us quite a lot of cauliflower.

I normally steam them, sometimes with a cheese sauce. I have also done a cauliflower curry before.

I need some new recipes, please :)

I hate the stuff but family members like the stuff dipped in batter and flash fried/deep fried and then served with a dip (peri-peri / sweet chilli / paprika) ........ yech

cauliflower curry sounds nice!!!

try boiling/steaming a cauliflower, then stick it in the blender with some milk and have cauliflower soup, very nice!!!

i'm sure google may have a couple?

i'd say go for the soup, and get ready to poop

Mash it up like mashed potatoes. It makes for a nice low carb alternative!

Roast them with coriander - works really well.

Soup - made with stock, potatoes, cauliflower and onion. Add milk and cream. Season. Blend. Serve with wild mushrooms, fresh chives and grated parmesan.

Cauliflower risotto. My recipe for this is about 2 pages long though so not sure if you want me to post it? But you can experiment with it yourself if you know how to make risotto.

Experiment with different bases for a cauliflower cheese sauce. Cauliflower carries flavours really well so use some wine in the bechamel as an example. Just play around. One of the great marriages of flavour is cauliflower and chocolate btw - not the sweet nestle and cadburys crap though. The 90% cocoa stuff...

Cauliflower with bread crumbs is a simple Austrian dish which I can highly recommend for people who like cauliflower.

Simply steam the cauliflower as used to. Melt 50gr real butter in a pan, add 100gr bread crumbs and roast slowly until it turns slightly brown. You can add chopped parsley if you like or also a bit of fresh, finely chopped garlic.

Put buttered bread crumbs over bite sized cauliflower, add salt and serve.

Goes very well with freshly cooked asparagus as well.

Another favourite is cauliflower risotto. I'm not a huge fan of Jamie Oliver but this recipe is good: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/risotto/cauliflower-risotto-risotto-ai-cavolfior

1.Get some rabbits.
2.Feed them to said rabbits until they are fat and juicy.
3.Make nice rabbit/Guiness pies.
...
5.Yummy!

ARE YOU SERIOUS ?

Could you maybe expand on this recipe ? Including what kind of oven temp is required.

Drizzle in oil. Salt and pepperfy. Roast some fresh coriander seeds in a pan. Crush them. Sprinkle on cauliflower. Roast at about 180C until slightly browned on the outside and soft on the inside...

Thanks. I also got this similar recipe from the WWW -

12 cups cauliflower florets (from about 4 pounds cauliflower)
1 large onion, peeled, quartered
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
3/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
1 tablespoon Hungarian hot paprika
1 3/4 teaspoons salt

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Preheat oven to 450°F. Place cauliflower florets in large roasting pan. Pull apart onion quarters into separate layers; add to cauliflower. Stir coriander seeds and cumin seeds in small skillet over medium heat until slightly darkened, about 5 minutes. Crush coarsely in mortar with pestle. Place seeds in medium bowl. Whisk in oil, vinegar, curry powder, paprika, and salt. Pour dressing over vegetables; toss to coat. Spread vegetables in single layer. Sprinkle with pepper.

Roast vegetables until tender, stirring occasionally, about 35 minutes. (Can be made 2 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature. Rewarm in 450°F oven 10 minutes, if desired.)

Mound vegetables in large bowl. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Something like this:

2 cups cauliflower florets
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp yogurt
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric and
½ tsp cumin powder.
Grind 2 garlic cloves, 2 green chillies and a small piece of ginger grind to a fine paste
Salt for taste

Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions and sauté till golden brown.

Add ginger, garlic, green chili paste and saute. Add chopped tomatoes and saute a few minutes. Add all the spice powders and salt and cook till the tomatoes absorbs the flavor.

Add the yogurt and sauté till the yogurt is well blended. Now add the cauliflower florets and sauté them well turning all sides to coat the masala and cook them covered for 2 minutes.

Add ½ cup of water. Cook covered for 5-6 minutes.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Hope I did not leave anything out !
