It's inconceivable to some people that you can actually pick up all the knowledge that you need just by working in the industry
Indeed, my current employer is playing that card with me now... because Lordy... I don't have dem degree. But hell I can do the work, even proved I could do it...

Im amazed at the people posting in here asking Syntax to get hold of them about the position.
That kind of thing drives me insane, if you want something then do the legwork and get hold of the person.

In terms of the position I dont think the OP was unreasonable, I would call it more of a clear message that no time wasters are wanted and that you will be working hard.
Who even knows what it pays? it might be well suited to someone that wants high pay and is willing to sacrifice some of their personal time for it.

Why must I sacrifice my personal time, time I can never get back, working for a company that sends a clear message they want slaves/minions that will not complain and just work like dogs. Loyalty is a thing of the past, it died the day 1994 elections came.

At least the employer is clear about the working environment and what is expected. So it won't be a shock when you start working there. Elon Musk does this at his companies, the difference is; it is a great mission; MAN'S MISSION TO MARS. Not just a job where you work your ass off to enrich the shareholders. A good work environment will allow the employees to work hard & excel. Carrot is better than the stick in the long run.

99.6% of jobs in SA exist just to enrich shareholders and fund the big kahuna's jet-set lifestyle. That is the problem I have, I am tired of doing it... This is in sharp contrast to working for Musk, that is a job I would gladly sacrifice for, because the end goal is not seeing the d00s get a new Merc and then in the same breath tell you "Aw sorry mate, no money for increases this year"

This has to be the most unprofessional advert I have ever seen. It puts you off applying for the job. The way you have worded it makes the company sound like hell to work for. Good luck to everyone who's going to apply. I can only imagine what the interviews will be like.

Thanks... you are right. Unfortunately that is an unpopular view around here.

Good day;

my name is Thabang, I am very confident I can withstand the technical interview.
My personal mail is [redacted], cell no: [redacted]
how do I sent you my CV or I can call.

Kind Regards
Thabang Thinane

Both CCNA and CCNP level Engineers required for technically driven company in midrand area to join the routing, switching and security team.

Please DO NOT apply if:
You braindumped and/or are not at a CCNA or CCNP level. You will be tested on your technical abilities and understanding of concepts.
You only want to work on Cisco. We are a vendor neutral company and use technologies and vendors that fit client requirements
You are against doing physical labour like racking and stacking (or feel this is beneath you)
You only want to do routing or switching. The team includes security and the engineer is expected to provide end to end solutions (when they are ready)
Are a clock watcher and are adverse to travelling to Africa and/or working overtime (its IT, get used to it)
dislike loud(ish) environments and team members who may support rubbish football teams

Send me a PM for details if:
You love a challenge
are at a real CCNA or CCNP level
Dont fall apart when working on multiple vendors across multiple technologies
Enjoy high pressure, project based consulting and implementation work
Dont mind doing grunt work in the beginning, and sometimes later on as well
are technology instead of vendor driven

Again, we have interviewed loads of CCNA/CCNP/CCIE written (or vendor equivelant like JNCIP etc) candidates who have brain dumped and/or have somehow stumbled their way through their IT career. These interviews waste yours and our time and get pretty annoying after a while.
If you are confident you are at a CCNA or CCNP equivelant level please PM me and we can kick start the process

He's not the only one who did that though. Lol @ people who are supposedly knowledgeable in networks and security, posting their personal details in the open...
"syntax error"? :D
You need to edit the quote in the post above yours too... :p

And in the meantime, Thabang will sit there and blame the economy and whoever for not phoning him back - never bothering to come back to the link...

Have to LOL sometimes.

Like many others, Thabang cannot read, cannot follow written instructions.
