This I agree with - if you operate in an illegal frequency, then your equipment will be confiscated.

There's lots of illegal RF equipment being sold on bidorbuy. For example, the Cobra FRS/GMRS two-way radios (two different models) offered by "digitalsolutions" are completely illegal here. They operate on frequencies in the 462Mhz and 467Mhz bands which are not license-exempt here.

Personally, I'd be happy if the word could be gotten through to whoever is behind the "digitalsolutions" alias at bidorbuy so that they could voluntarily remove the products from the site and take a little more care in future in what they try selling. I don't have an account there (and I'm not going to get one) so there's no way for me to pass on the info. So, if anyone wants to volunteer, that'd be good.
Of course, if they don't get removed then ICASA will have to be involved. I feel it's a pity, though, that they don't have the resources to be as active as other regulators in the world, such as the FCC. Acting only on interference complaints does nothing to educate either the suppliers or the consumers.

The 446 MHz band is the legal frequency isn't it?
433 ~439MHz is legal for remote controls in SA
The so-called ISM band, in the 960Mhz range was supposedly allocated for this too.
I also hear that the 2.4GHz band is available for wireless CCTV products.
I find it difficult to imagine how a small low power device like that can cause such a huge load of k@k. Radar is pretty powerful stuff if I recall correctly from my days in college. I suppose the offending product caused a blip on their screen and they crapped in their pants about it.

There are two bands. One at 446.000 ~ 446.100 Mhz, per the pan-European PMR446 specification. The other is made up of 5 spot frequencies between 463.975Mhz and 464.375Mhz, sometimes referred to as PMR464. This band is unique to SA.
The 433 ~ 434 Mhz ISM band (it doesn't stretch to 439Mhz) is usable only for things like remote controls or low-use data, not for voice. The only voice operations you should hear there are by Amateur licensees.
FRS and GMRS are not, never have been and probably never will be legal here.

If I may wander a bit off topic - 2.4GHz is also being used for radio controlled planes now, it is a new technology that does away with the old "peg board" system that was used to prevent someone trying to fly on someone elses frequency.
