I just bought a new mobo and Celeron CPU that I'm putting together for someone.

The Celeron CPU didn't come with any thermal paste, but on the bottom of the HSF there are 3 rough pads of some sort...

What's up. I have Zalman thermal paste, so should I just remove the little pads and put some paste on? Or stick the HSF straight on with the pads? Or is there paste under the pads or something?

Can I pls get a quick response, as I need to finish this quite urgently...

It's a Celeron and not going to be used to hecticly. What are the pads? If I can just leav them I'd rather do that.

To paste or not to paste, that is the question. Paste is always better than no paste. Even with a Celeron

Haha. Nevermind. They weren't pads. It was paste, except neatly arranged...

So I took it off and applied some of the good (Zalman) stuff.
