Cell C’s explosive growth

Dont get me wrong Alan, price is very important, but so is your network performance. Without that, price counts for nothing. We're just human man, we want something for close to nothing, so make it happen n we're all yoz.

@Novel Are you suggesting that Vodacom and especially MTN have better networks? In your opinion, why do you think the competition can not match CellC's voice/data price?

Maybe now we can see a drop in prices all round

I have to be frank, right now price is more important than cellular quality. That might be because I never really travel and I live mostly in populated areas but I get by fine with CellC's cover. Pricing needs to hit European standards and then they can work on the infrastructure. Same goes for broadband adsl. Africans need greater access to cellular and internet services even if they're a bit spotty at times.

It works hand in hand, how do you invest in infrastructure when you making very little profit? To make profit you need subscribers, to get subscribers you need competitive pricing. When you have the subscribers you need to invest more into infrastructure.
I doubt you saying they should sell cheap access with no guarantee of connectivity?

No, of course one needs a guarantee of connectivity. I'm saying if one had to choose between higher pricing and greater coverage versus a similar level of coverage and cheaper pricing, I'd choose the latter right now, if only because the adoption of internet services is supremely price sensitive.
