Cell C 3G

So when can we expect CellC to announce their network upgrades?
The only announcement made so far is the one posted above.

21mbps is not 4G, 4G is LTE, what is Cell C smoking, already Vodacom and MTN are offering this or at least have begun expanding their networks, so by the time Cell C comes round, it won't be the fastest network.

Already saw people on the cell c tower near me.....(Could be Telkom or Neotel guys who knows) They just signed ZTE as their guys to do the job, not to dis Cell C but if you had a look at their coverage map you would know that it took them that long to get coverage up and running, thou they would be using 900 to the 2100 system on other networks.

Not only do they have to test the system out itself, link it to their current core-system,get backh from telkom, design price-plans, train their staff, get call center's for data.

Look at Telkom 3G,its taking forever to get that running

My idea is that,it would be in test phase in joze first (like Cell C 3G service was only available in its joze office's)

 3months to set up HSPA ? you kidding me?

You are Correct ...................

I would say the offical launch will be 1 may or latest 1 june. 3.7g that is.

just yesterday the cell c store told me it would be the 1st april.

They might relaunch but there is no way the network will be ready by next month trust me i know. Which area do u live in.

The reason they calling it 4g it because the equipment installed can be upgraded to lte, but you right they shouldnt be saying 4g but rather 3.75g

Fair enough I understand that, but why not then just be the 1st operator to launch true 4G here in SA, oh wait, forgot, no backhaul....nevermind.

Backhaul is coming in but sooner then you think. South Africa is not ready for 40mbps plus services yet.

This is a wait and see thing, close the topic and lets come back when we having problems trying to load a 1GB HSPA+ data bundle:whistle:

If Cell-C/Virgin mobile or even MTN could launch EDGE uncapped for under 500. that would be the ultimate for them

3G Launch

When do you guys think Cellc will launch HSPA+ . Lets see who the closest.

VC & MTN have already launched their HSPA+ services, so Cell C = FAIL

Where is this HSPA+ network in their offices with one site active. Network doesn't mean one site.

Please explain to me where I used the word "network" in my post?....all I merely said was that both VC and MTN have launched HSPA+ services albeit still in its infancy stage, Cell C has not.

Ok I will be fair you didnt say network. But services means that consumers have access to it. How do you know what stage Cell C is in.
