Cell C 3G

Iv got a good view of a Cell C tower not so far from me, today I see them replacing alot of stuff on the tower,..im thinking 3G:whistle:
 
well lets hope so because i have given up on the idea of them ever getting it right, every month im told by there store,it will be up and running in 2 weeks or so, that has being since Jan
 
Okay this is how i gather whats going on

The tower has 3 companies using it.Cell C , Neotel and Telkom 3G. Living near the tower you notice changes to it. 2 weeks back they were playing with microwave dishes, one day it was left of the tower than right, then it wasnt there. 1 week back I see then placing normal gsm nodes below existing nodes. Yesterday they took out the older nodes and replaced them with the 3g ones i see on the vodacom tower near me. In the past I spoke to MTN about reception in my area, they said voda and mtn cant place anything near that tower. Rules out the possibility of them putting something up on it. Niether Telkom 3g cause my 3g would have went down. 3 weeks to install 3G per tower i say...
 
First live sites on the production network benchmarking at 17.1 Mbps DL. But the new network is a hoax so this probably isn't real.
 
ok after the cell c store giving me the 5th definate date for there 4g launch and failing to follow through, "the cell c store told me yesterday that it would only be after august, i have sent cell c my one months notice. why cant they just be honnest from the beginig and tell us they have no idea what is actualy happening instead of feeding people a different lie every month.
 
I heard CellC is going to bring out 3G that is 3 x faster than Vodacom's! Vodacom Advanced can give up to 7 Mb download per second - IF you have the right modem and you are near the right tower... So, CellC will give me 21 Mb download per second? I would like to see that! In Europe, downloads are like 18 Mb per second... Good luck! I hear they want to bring it out in time for the Soccer World Cup. Well, it is almost here...

Doing some searching on this forum will reveal that Vodacom already is offering 21mbps whereas Cell C has no 3G to speak of much less HSDPA
 
Have any of you ever got more then 2mbs on vodacom. I'm not taking about testing, normal customers.
 
yeah our office 3g gets about 5-6mbs about 1km from the tower. During office hours.
 
Is there a CellC representative on these forums??
Members have been speculating for some time now as to the launch date of 3G.
CellC is abslutely silent on a launch date.

Various CellC outlets give differing dates as to when the launch can be expected.
When we approached CellC to upgrade our 3 contracts in January of this year, the shop informed us it would be at the end of March.
Come March they told us April. April then become end May.
We have been putting off the contract upgrade until we know what is happening.

I would like an answer from the CellC representative. Alternatively CellC can kiss 3 contracts goobye.
 
I can guarantee you that the first site, even the test site, will only be up at the end of the year. Cell C might only go live end of 2011, and that wont even be a massive presence. It takes a LONG time to setup 3000 odd sites
 
We have been with CellC for about 8 years now, and seems out path with them has come to an end.
I am tired of them feeding us B/S, their lack of customer service, their inability to ever come back with a query and their lacklustre performance.
Goodbye CellC.
