Hi,

I'm on the verge of formatting my windows 7 64 bit pc and installing the beta version of windows 8 64 bit. Does the Cell C connector app work on win 8? Has anyone tested it or done this before?

Thanks

Windows 8 isn't ready for to be used as primary Operating system.
I would advise you to make a partition on your hard drive and install windows 8 to there .

I used windows 8 for a couple of weeks and a lot of applications didn't work and i found quiet a few bugs.
I recommend waiting till the final release of Windows 8 comes out .

...
+1 or install it on a 2nd hdd.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Will maybe wait and give it a try when it comes out. I'm running on a Notebook so the 2nd hdd thing is not that easy to do.

Does the Cell C Connector App work on Win 8 though?

Work as in the modem works...then yip

I installed the latest version of the app, the drivers work. I can connect via the system connection method and via 3rd party applications. The Cell C one didn't work all that well.

SHORT - The drivers work, the app not so much...you can still connect to the internet depending on your device i say

HI

Have you tried MDMA ?
Wonder if win8 compatible.

Well win8 is in RTM and cellc still not working, not with the software not with a dial up connection nor mdma. Drivers do NOT work at all.

Hi

The Cellc speed stick won’t work on windows 8 hence there are no drivers installed on the modem for windows 8 not too sure about the app loading on windows 8, can i get back to you on that?

Ok now thats just completely stupid, it wont work on windows 8 so that's why there are no drivers, really? So you guys are only going to get drivers once it does work, which would mean there are drivers. So you are basically telling me you are waiting for drivers so that you can make drivers?

Without drivers who really cares if the app works, it opens as far as being useless and unable to dial up, which is because of the drivers that don't exist which you are apparently waiting for in order to make drivers

Guess you still looking for the reason it does not have drivers for the drivers you need to make hey?

Been working fine as my primary....

Been working fine as my primary....

Its been working fine for hundreds, if not thousands of people, that statement became invalid the 3rd of August when it hit RTM, its said to be the most stable RTM release MS has put out to date.
I have been running it since the 4th of August and the CellC modem is the only problem I have run into, vodacom modem works quite fine as do both my android devices. There were known problems with certain oboard Asus wifi cards, but those have been fixed and official certified Win8 drivers are out from nvidia, not that the win7 ones had any problems.

I am just waiting for the 26th to buy my upgrade.

*thread bump*

Any clarity on Cell C and Windows 8 yet? Specifically the E1820 dongle?

Seeing as teh OS is out and very cheap ppl are going to be jumping over quickly, would help if cellc gave a damn

I needed to update the Cell c stick (white/E1752) drivers before I could use it. A bit of a catch 22 if you don't have internet...

Anyone know where one could get the drivers before upgrading to win8?

Did you not see above cellc's response, they also in a catch 22, they waiting for some deity to write drivers for them to write drivers.
They also seem to need the drivers in order to write the drivers.

But mine works after updating the drivers on win8, so it means there is divers... this was an automated update so I don't know where it got the drivers from or if it was generic drivers. Surely one should be able to download the drivers before installing win8?

HI

We are testing drivers for Win 8, once passed will put them on the web site for down load.
