Hi,

Can the Cell C rep please contact me.

It seems that doing a port from Virgin Mobile > Cell C is too much for Cell C.

1.) The automated SMS porting system doesn't work.
2.) Your consultants don't listen and hangup the phone.
3.) They put me on hold indefinitely - all the while I'm paying for the call (not able to call from Cell C SIM).
4.) When I do get someone to submit a port for me they do it wrong. They submit the port from Virgin as contract, when that SIM is actually prepaid - thus Virgin reject the port.
5.) When I call and ask to speak to a manager your call center reps hangup, are rude or simply don't listen.
6.) Cell C stores won't help me as they claim its Cell C Direct's problem.
7.) I'm at WITS end and about to explode. PLEASE PROVIDE THE SERVICE I AM PAYING FOR.

Cell C rep - please help me. I'm this close to telling Cell C to collect their damn iPhone 5 as I can't get ANY service.

ALL I WANT IS A SIMPLE NUMBER PORT! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?

Thanks,
J

Hey man cool down i am with cellc c and will not change never had a problem I guess its that time of year everything is running on sceleton staff....

Hello,

Like other members have said, just give it a few days.
Yep, I do understand where you're coming from but try to relax abit.
I've successfully used the automated sms porting system earlier in December to port from Virgin prepaid to CellC for the data bundles.
I guess its this time of year where everything comes to a grinding hault.

Regards,

I ported Virgin > Cell C in a few hours from start to finish.

Oh gosh. Sorry to hear this. Cell C are absolutely useless!!! Had to resort to HelloPeter... multiple times. Their customer service has REALLY shot to hell!

This. Their call centres are only equipped to deal with the most basic of inquiries, I would be surprised if they even knew what a "port" was. It is also impossible to speak to a manager or supervisor by calling their support center.

Log a complaint on HelloPeter and then hope that somebody competent calls you back.

My port was delayed, but solely due to me and my inability to insert the sim card properly into new phone :o otherwise it was smooth.

I've complained via Facebook / Twitter / Phone / Mybroadband.

I'm hoping the rep on MYBB has a bit more of a brain than the rest of Cell C - as they really are useless. By far the worst SP i've ever been with (and i've tried them all in SA, even the virtual ones).

Its a pity as their plans are the easiest to understand / the most attractive.

For those saying be patient - i've been patient since Wednesday trying to port. I simply cannot get any assistance, either via phone or via a Cell C store...

Sigh

Pm'd.

Just tried the SMS porting system again. Still down or doesn't work from a Virgin Mobile SIM. Don't get any reply...

5th time i've sms'd the porting number now - 5x over the last week. No reply, no nothing. It doesn't bloody well work.

Please fix it or stop advertising it. I've waited a week now to port - someone from Cell C please get your act together - i'm unable to use my new phone as a result!

Can someone please get in touch for the love of god - what does one need to do to get some service nowdays?

A Cell C rep just contacted me regarding this MYBB thread. A few minutes after the call I received an SMS saying my port was in progress. If only I could have spoken to this individual first... Holding thumbs, hoping it goes through. Will keep this thread updated.

Thanks,
J

I ported from mtn to Cell C without a hitch. Followed the instructions to the t. Took about 2 hours. However, its a crap time of the year to get anything done. Im battling with a cars starter motor since before xmas because suppliers are closed.
