CELL C BSS Migration Update from the Bald Guy - Woooooosh

Good news! All of our stores are back online and raring to go!

We are still experiencing some issues with SMS notifications but are working hard to resolve them. The issue relating to language preferences has been fixed.

To check your pre- paid balance please dial *101# ( Post-paid should not use *101#)

If you are a post-paid customer to check your balance dial 14302

Yes! you can go to any of our stores for an upgrade, and a free coffee while you are at it.

Currently my wife's unpaid balance is at R580000.00, Yesterday it was at R346000.00 when she dials 14302 ...

Are you serious about this amount ? Does your wife spend that much money on her phone or is it just human error. (Please don't tell me your wife is using her dongle on contract)

I would get a heart attack if that happen to me to be honest.

Hmmm, :D , the amount is honest, and after calling an 086 something number and quering it, they tell her that that system is not "lekka" they are working on it, and gave her a balance of R380.00, which is still a little high for only 10 days of usage ... but can still be dealt with ... , nope she does not use her phone for data - it is not capable ...:D

Be interesting to see, what the amount has gone to this morning ... , unless they KILLED it overnight ...

Hopefully the help center contact was correct, that it is a system glitch ...

Thought I'd give it a day or two just to be sure but stores are still saying they can not process any phone upgrades. Its getting rather frustrating now.

Known Issue: Prepaid Balance Enquiry Error

• We are aware of the issue caused by the balance enquiry responding with an incorrect amount

• This is affecting certain prepaid subscribers

• The issue is being resolved and is expected to be fixed over the weekend

• The actual prepaid balance is not affected at all

What about not being able to view invoices? Error message "There was an error processing a page. A file I/O error has occurred." is generated when opening the file with Acrobat Reader 8.2.5.

And, once again, what about the people who have to continuously disconnect and reconnect to use their internet. This has been raised many times and Cell C seems to just completely ignore it

My experience of getting a 24Gig data sim:
1. 9/02: Clearwater out of stock - have to drive to Key West
2. 10/02 at 16:30: Key West provides SIM, can't activate account, can't print invoice, can't use point-of-sale. I have to draw cash and miss out on loyalty points.
3. 11/02 at 10:30: SIM activated, get call from Key West franchise staff.

Sympathy with the franchisees - they have lost a lot of business since Saturday and will not be compensated by CellC.
New BSS comes from Huawei, probably a freebee thrown in with network expansion.

My wifes phone is now reporting 2,343,460.00 balance, owed, ... , hoping this will be sorted out over the week-end ...

Please comment on the "still connected but only able to access the cell c website" issue. We are on our knees, begging for any kind of feedback. Ignorance from cell c is making it worse.

+1 for you, so say we all, and amen to that, broda!

The "official" thread for this has since fallen off the first page, not because it's no longer an issue but just because we all got sick of bumping it all the time without that having any effect.

Even a "we don't have any idea what the hell you're all on about; please come again??" at this stage would be a good start...

Still does not seem to attract any attention from the right people. Can't blame me for thinking they are unable to find the problem and trying to hide their incompetence by ignoring simple issues...

Which is the correct thread to add my incredible frustration to this issue? How can a large company like Cell C just stick its head in the sand and pretend to the rest of the world that nothing is wrong? Try phoning them and you get to listen to Trevor Noah for 39 minutes (yes, I timed it) telling you the power is in your hands now, which just made me ten times more angry than before. How many thousand people were duped into buying this untested piece of junk?

Where in the world is Ron?

Ron we miss you, Please come back.... we need you!

Must say I am happy (Got 5GB deal from Autopage)

1) First only phoning 14302 gave me a balance (no USSD, no "Bal" SMS to 14302)
2) After the upgrade USSD works! SMS to 14302 works AND the dashboard software allows me to check my balance - Yah!

So for me it is working great (now)!

Dropping the stickies because there is no more love from Cell C in this thread :(

Well, they "inform" us when they deem it necessary. Must say Vodacom3G was more active in these threads, but Jannie was also not your average "forumite"...

I am happy with Cell-C giving us updates from time to time. They don't need to "give us love" each day (well my connection is fine)...

My point is no one has come back to say "all done!" or "we've fixed x y, but are still working on z". They make an announcement and then don't follow-up. So how do we know if we need to keep reporting something or just shrug it off to maintenance?
