I've got my monthly contract limit set to R450pm, yet today my account was debited R578 for the month. Have tried calling (084) 140 all day, but keep getting a "we're experiencing high call volumes...goodbye." message.

What the hell gives?!

the operators all do that. Just be glad they didn't try processing a bill of more than double your limit as a result of their own billing error - been there with Vodacom and I've heard horror stories on MTN.

"The operators all do that" ??
Last month they cut me off when I hit my limit. Yesterday I got an sms that I was now left with R42.17 to use.
This makes no sense.

it means they are having a glitch on the billing system - the point is that line limits of whatever form are not full proof. Guys who've been bitten by the OOBShark will testify to this fact. There is a possibility to make their life difficult with the National Credit Regulator but its unlikely to have any luck.

Hi chopsky, Please PM me your number, will check if indeed your limit is set to R450, Let's make sure it doesn't happen again next month. *DM*

Have PM'ed you my number.
As per My Account on Cell C website: "Monthly Usage Limit: 450 Rand"

I appreciate your swift response and your attendance to the issue, but the fact is that it already happened last month by no fault of my own and every fault of your system. I don't understand why I should be punished for a glitch in Cell C's system. Perhaps some sort of compensation for this fact?
