Cell C contract price reductions here soon

I DO like what CellC is doing - sucky to see prepaid cuts all the time without contract users (who provide annuity income to the mobile operators) getting a share of the pie!

Side note: Can you guys take a new picture of Arthur at some point? I think it focused on the bookcase, so his face is out of focus.

“It is not that we have not thought about the contract customers – we have,” said Knott-Craig.
“We have already designed our products for them and they will be coming out within the next month,” said Knott-Craig.

Good to hear that, I'm sure the customers on contract will be happy to hear that. Especially those wanting to upgrade to the Galaxy SIII.

spoke to a guy who seemed reasonably clued up at cell c, said that they shall be offering the galaxy SIII most probably in June with the HTC one X or at the latest July

@Vodacom, idiots, I pay R300 for 120 anytime minutes on contract, and you telling me you have no plans to review that when the same thing will cost me R120 on prepaid? Catch a f!@#!@#ng wake-up would you ?

Also stuck paying R315 for 120 anytime minutes! Being r#ped at R2.65 a minute!!! Cancelling my contract as soon as possible. I can rather spend the extra cash on a data bundle!

Market share is good, but lets hope they do not become too big for their clients. That seems to be the case with Vodacom, at least.

Really good to see all the talk is actually resulting in action. Well done Cell C

Why do they always cut prices for prepaid but contracts remain at such a high price?
It makes no sense since there should be some kind of incentive to customers to get locked into a contract.

I'm beginning to reconsider my original (unflattering) opinion of AKC.

Makes two of us. However, he has just gained 40 percent out of a 100 from me. He needs to fix Cell C's poor signal and coverage, and then come up with good data deals. I also believe that voice prices can still come down a few notches particularly as voice calls are on the decline.

If he does all the above and keeps the exciting promotions coming then he will get a 100 percent approval from me.

Funny how I was going to port to MTN but something told me to wait and see what Cell C has in store. Good thing I waited.

I was also on the verge of moving to MTN or 8ta.. but now I'm quite excited. If they drop the key handsets down to a cheaper level - e.g. Optimus Black, SGS2, Lumia 710/800, Ace2 (whenever it arrives) I'll snap it up.

A truly bold, awesome move. Well done to AKC.

I would love to see the panic stations in the red camp today (not so much MTN and 8TA as they have stated they are perfectly happy to maintain their higher rates ) [Considering MTN Zone doesn't apply to contract]

Hopefully it is ultimately a win-win - customers make a lot more calls on their cellphones than previously and the shareholders see profits through volumes instead of fat margins.
