I'm testing the Cell C service in my area for a possible contract switch. Voice so far is fine, but data seem to be a problem. I get good speeds in my area, better now than MTN, but I keep getting disconnected from the data service, almost like it goes into a sleep mode, and takes a bit of prodding(opening my opera mini browser) to reconnect. I own a Galaxy s2 btw.
The speedtest app will work fine, but after a period of non-use of the phone, I have to first browse on Opera before I get the data going again. Is this normal behavior on the Cell C network or am I doing something wrong? I have requested and installed the Cell C configuration settings and tried the phone with roaming on and off, nothing seems to make a difference.
Help would be appreciated.
