Cell C fibre order processing question

Hi All, wondering if there is a CELLC rep on the forum, I have a question about the process.
We order the fibre and were contacted for installation yesterday, we contacted CELLC as the order on the system still said in process, to ask when the router/modem would be shipped, the person said we should call today after the installation and let them know and they would get it dispatched.

We did this and called the 084 145 support number and went to the CELLC fibre to home option, the consultant was not wanting the order number as they said this was the long way round, and would only take name , address and id details and contact number as they needed to give this to the technician and we would be contacted.

My Question is, is this normal process? Why would they not take the order number and get the details from there? It leaves us feeling a bit uncomfortable with the whole interaction.
 
Hi you need the number for the technician in your area, they usually have 1 team installing routers for a large area so it takes a while if they have a lot of installations to do.

Ask for their number then you will have rough idea of when they will be able to come. Usually a team of 2 people for the province.

The when is a bit less important to me, just wondering if was ok to just give details so they can be passed on and why the process does not take the order number and get the details from the system, just always concerned about giving out personal details over the phone. to be fair the consultant may have been really trying to speed it up and do a great job, just wondering about not getting details from the system. Maybe just over cautious.
 
Hi @Cell_C the fibre has been activated a while back and is working thank you, is there a way to update payment method details via your website?
