Cell C gets 3G roaming from Vodacom

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff, now you can chat for 99c per minute and still get 3G signal on Vodacom and Cell C areas.

So, they are getting into bed are they?
8ta has an agreement with MTN, so why not CellC. Alan K-C seems to have pulled in a few favours

This is absolutely fantastic for someone like me in a non CellC HSPA+ area. I can use my CellC sim now as I have been doing and connect to a Vodacom 3G tower, which we do have.

Flipping Cool! :D ;) :p

Does this apply to Red Bull Mobile as well? I remember complaints that even the 2G roaming on Vodacom wasn't working as expected.

And Virgin Mobile?

Effective immediately ?

Not in my area it isn't, I have poor Cell C and good Vodacom, and nothing has changed as yet !

In Stellenbosch, I can't select Vodacom 3G.
Quite likely you will only be able to roam on Vodacom in areas where Cell C knows for sure they have no coverage.

As a Cell C customer, this is great news.

I am not sure you can just select Vodacom. From my experience, the phone/network switches itself to roaming if it has no coverage and there is coverage on vodacom

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna copycatting you, don't pull an Apple on me :p :D

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!! Excellent news! Now I don't have to dread going to the boondocks for onsite support... :D

No more moaning at throttled EDGE...

...

...

... :erm: will Voda also be throttling 3G? If it's so, and the speeds is acceptable, then I won't have an issue...

Will have to see what it is like though.

You can select it. With the CellC Dashboard it's a matter of doing a manual network search. I'll test it tonight when I'm back at home and report back :).

With 2G I can switch at will. Hence my comment that it probably only applies in specific areas.

So now Cell C will pay Vodacom with the small revenue they make on their low fees?
Is he thrashing Cell C?

I couldn't test last night, but I just got home in anticipation to connect my CellC sim on Vodacom 3G and it's a no-go. It doesn't work. It won't allow the network change.

rpm? When will it be active, since the agreement has been signed as the article states?
