Cell C hints at Telkom Mobile merger

I cannot see any possible benefit for Telkom (Group) at all

Telkom Mobile needs to be about a lot more than running a cellular operator service it has to be part of a convergence strategy of Telkom which would see Telkom's retail operations under three banners - Business, Mobile and Internet
Telkoms wholesale operations needs to cover products and services able to fully provide for the retail operations except where other network operators are providing a more cost effective wholesale solution and these products and services must be available at wholesale pricing for other ECS companies. Cell C is an "old" cellular company which Telkom Mobile can't afford to be (and honestly I think all that the Maseko means by derisk is getting out of the game of being a cellular company which 8ta was largely launched as)
