Cell C hits 13 million subscribers

Good and bad

Been with Cell-C direct for about 3 months now.
Customer service has been exceptionally good compared to the dismal service i received at Nashua-Mobile / Vodacom.

My bill has basically been halved as well.
Just a pity about the 80% or so dropped calls. Vodacom IS much better than Cell-C in this regard.
BB internet also suck.

But, taking the punishment out of principle. Vodacom is arrogant.
 
More competition SMS spam to be served. The SMS they should be sending is one that warns about data bundles expiry, instead they silently disappear.

I get like 3 or 4 SMSes when topping up. Quite annoying when I knew what I was getting before topping up.

Expiry warnings would be much more useful - I'm tired of my airtime vanishing :/
 
Sadly,I wish I could ride this wave but come Dec, whooosh I'm off to 8ta/Telkom. I have had terrible 3G speeds since Aug and never once hitting anything above 1Mbps on speedtest,needless to say this has affected how I use my tablet and Android phone and one test returning...

So happy I'm not taking part of their soaring. One of the worst services, that i have received from a company in SA. And there is really some hard competition out there for that. Honestly i can not think from who else i have got such a bad service for 2 years in the row. Even with Telkom you can come right now and then.
 
I have defended cellc a few times. Recently i really freaked out after buying 2gb and could not use it on a pc. I could not believe that a month really passed before i could use a quarter of that. I guess they are good for mobile browsing only

I've had to use my Note II on 2g for the past 2 weeks or so just to connect to internet:wtf:And I'm not the only one, my cousin on her S3 has the same issue, a collegue at work on her Sony Experia Z has the same problem. And it's not issolated as I have issues at work and home( Soweto & Braamfontein) places I spend 90% of my life at. Sad thing is I just upgraded 3 months back:(
 
Cell C's network in East London (Vincent) is terrible....like people can't reach me on my phone while it is on, or if they do get hold of me, the phone call drops!! As for data wise, I dont get more than 1Mbps on 3G!!

But I am Glad PE's Cell C network rocks!! :D
 
that means cell now has 25% market share so they dont need asymetry. now please lets work on the network quality
