Cell C incompetence- Over a month and issue not resolved

It is impossible to phone Esquire in Cape Town from a Cell C sim card. Esquire's ph. number is 021 555 0001 and if you attempt to phone them from Cell C you just get an automated voice message saying:

"You number you have dialed does not exist. Please redial carefully or consult directory enquiries."

From a Telkom/8ta/MTN/Vodacom/WTFyouwant-akom line you can get through, but not Cell C. A month ago I made numerous calls to Cell C customer care to make them aware of this. Nobody had enough brain cells to understand what the problem was, but I was promised that I would receive a call back from Cell C once they had looked into it.

How can this still be an issue a month later? Are Cell C's technical staff really that incompetent?! :wtf:

That issue sounds really odd.

It does seem that Trevor must have left Cell C or something. If I were to compare the responses from Cell C to Vodacom or Mweb (on this very forum), Cell C is light years behind. I wonder how that fits in with their plans of reaching 25% market share.

Just tried dialling that number from my Cell C phone and it went through.

I also knew of this and the problem will be "escalated". Who knows what will happen. Another guy in the business also cannot get through to several Neotel numbers but CellC were adamant that it was his phone's problem.

You are probably dialling from a ported number or to a ported number.

I'm currently battling with Cell C to reset my routing tables on my port because Neotel numbers can't reach me.

Yes, I ported my number from Vodacom 18 months ago but I could phone that number and get through until just over a month ago, then suddenly "number does not exist".

I phoned Esquire's Joburg had office and they said they are aware of the problem with Cell C but they haven't been able to sort it out.
