cell c internet- but android play store wont download..help please

hi everyone

wonder if someone can help
about a month ago, everything was fine
but now if i try to download anything from the play store.it just gets stuck at downloading
im using my cell c internet to create a wifi hotspot.and then using that from my tablet
any ideas?
apn on the cell c is set to internet, rest is blank
 
YES! I thought it was just me. I have been pulling out my hair for a while now.

I am unable to download ANYTHING from the play store. I can browse it perfectly, but once i hit that download button i get nothing.
Stick my 8ta sim into my phone and bam, all the downloads fly to my phone.

I have been having this problem for maybe a week or 2 now.
 
Same problem for me on Cell C as well.
Hop onto my WiFi with 8ta gateway and all is ok.
Wondered why all my updates were failing to load!

Ahem! Cell_C??
 
lets hope the cell c representitive helps us?

seems a issue for many
guys, when did it start for you? for me only recently..about 1 month back it was fine?
 
What happens if you configure and use OpenDNS or Google DNS?
 
Having the same issues with CellC internet, Some downloads will start fine ,but others not. Kinda hit and miss at the moment.

There is an app you can use to do it. But you need to download it from the Play Store :p. I don't have another sim with me at the moment :(. Plus the phone needs to be rooted.

Doesn't look like a DNS issue.
OS monitor on my HTC DHD shows established connection from the Google Play Store to dy-in-f101.1e100.net:443, but the download is stalling.

If I switch to Wifi with 8ta (also Google Play Store to dy-in-f101.1e100.net:443), the same app downloads ok. Uninstall app and switch back to Cell C and same app download stalls again.

Same, tried some random apps and some download, while most wont.

HI All

I have run a few test across all providers.
Tested the same app on the others and still gave errors.
And it seems to be an app store issue.
My be this has to do with to launch of ICS ?

Hi Armando,

This is not an App Store issue as I can download updates and apps fine from a wifi Mweb account and as above fine rfom an 8ta account.

This is only recent as I could download via CellC last month as someone else stated as well.

If some one else has VC / MTN please can you test.
Any assistance will help.
I have tested but will run test again if need be.

My apps updates also constantly time out via CellC 3G. Some just time out and I have to keep retrying. Others never manage to update. Using wireless and Telkom ADSL works fine and the updates download without issues. This started may be around 10-15 days ago.

Attempted to download evernote, and the download started.

However I've experienced this same issue last week where it just hangs on "Starting to Download..."

Are you guys in the process of making downloads from the play store free?

EDIT:
Location: Northern suburbs cape town
OS: CM7 2.3.7
 
I have had similar issues. Try to erase the cache data of the play store and uninstall any updates for the play store. Should work fine after that.

Ever note worked...but downloading Lookout Security which didn't work for me or 3G Watchdog. Hmm not really sure what it could be?
