Cell C introduces new data-focused smartchat bundles

Besides the high out of bundle rate of R790 per gb(I know this is less than other operators but its still not the 15c/mb they gave us at first!),these are actually very nice contracts for people who don't call much but instead use lots of social media etc.

Looks like Cell C has been listening to the market and has catered for another segment of it with these offers.

Nah, Telkom Mobile with R69 airtime swapped for 500 mb data does me good.

Just a pity that whatever profit they do make isn't being invested back into their network and support systems....it sucks just as much as it did 2 years ago so I'm leaving them today.

Their MyTools app (which was rather k@k to begin with) was discontinued shortly after I ported and to this day they STILL don't have an Android app? Seriously?! How pathetic.

They came into the market roughly 10 years ahead of Telkom Mobile but the new kids on the block are making them look like the incompetent fools that they are.

I prefer my 3GB/365Days/R299 voucher. Thanks, but no thanks!

There is no reason to jump to the lowest offering from what I can see.

Here is why:

- 6GB smart data at R499, once off
- 66c call rate

With that smart data option, you get 500 megs of data a month, so it works out to about R42 each month. Then 25 minutes of calltime would work out to about R16.50. Total per month now is R58.50.

I'm not sure when the night time data kicks in. If it's from 00:00, it would be too much of an effort to use it.

What makes it a winner is the extra night time 512 + 12 Megs. But if that smart bundle stacks, you could pull off 1000 anytime megs with 25 minutes for R100.50.

Still far from brilliant IMO :/

What a waste of time..... Their data speeds are poor anyways so no use for these packages....

Agreed, it boggles my mind that to this day the networks have not introduced

1) Decent Android and iOS apps for data and account management
2) Visual voicemail

Even though Afrihost's Android app leaves much to be desired, it makes the benefit of ISP apps obvious. It seems to me our South African networks are completely oblivious to the value new technologies can potentially add.

No Cell C, you're losing the plot and becoming just like MTN now. All these "specials and promos" which aren't really special at all...

I still blame vodacom and mtn for forcing cellc into a corner with an "if-then-else" statement. Cellc isn't as strong as those two therefor they have to look at making more money. You people forget it's a business that needs to make profits for it's shareholders. Damn!
