Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Has anyone got DMZ or inbound port forwarding working on the Axxess or Mweb Cell C service. I am not able to get it working. It works 100% fine on Rain and in the same router with Cell C sim with unrestricted APN...

I phone Axxess and bypassed the Support service, the team leaders and got to a guy Angelo.

Summary:
Me - I asked him to keep in mind that their website is really not reflecting what is going on.
Axxess - He undertook to advice 'them' to change the useless service message to a message that actually reflect that there is a CellC vs IS issue
Me - I told him that it may be a good idea to add a note or SMS to their shipping package on new deals that instruct a user to change his APN. I also had to figure that one after a few hours of non service.
Axxess - He said that they are aware of it and that he will take the suggestion forward.
Me - 'You guys are becoming famous here on my Broadband forum'
Axxess - The issue is IS and CellC are dragging their feet in coming back with the root cause and solution.
Me - Perhaps using the website and empowering your support personnel with the correct information could lead to reduced Support calls, you are really not demonstrating good management here.
Axxess - Agrees, will take is 'forward'

I asked CellC guy here to also help out in a PM a few minutes ago: 'Please post the reason behind the current CellC and IS problem and the action taken to sort it out.'

Dear Webafrica,

RAIN/Cell C LTE-A is experiencing a DNS setting and connectivity issues in the following areas :

Cape Town areas

Gauteng area

Currently the easy fix is to manually update the DNS settings on your device as follows:

Preffered DNS 8.8.8.8
Alternative DNS 8.8.4.4

Or for Cell C...

Preferred: 41.157.9.4
Alternate: 41.157.9.5

Technicians are working to restore services as soon as possible.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Regards
Webafrica

Nothing moves them. I wonder, if I owned a company like Axxess or WebAfrica (they also offer a fix that does not work on the support page), would I also not give a ****

Exactly. I can guarantee you that the owners of these companies would be the first to complain if they were to receive service like this from a company they were doing business with. In fact, I sincerely hope they do experience the same sort of frustrations :)

Have been runming 8.8.8.8 for a while. My sites does load and stuff works.
tried a variety of dns last night, no luck with any, used google and opendns and some others...

none working,
support now says they need my imei (which is at home so stuck til tonights testing)

Message: We have received a large number of reports about Cell C LTE services being intermittent and slow. We have logged this with our upstream providers, Internet Solutions/Cell C, and await response.

We would like to thank all affected clients for their patience and assure you that we are doing all we can to get to resolution.

Doing all we can, like asking customers for their IMEI numbers and making them fill in silly spreadsheets.

Hi,

did anyone try the mentioned CellC DNS servers?

Or for Cell C...

Preferred: 41.157.9.4
Alternate: 41.157.9.5

Seems like the issue has been around for 4 or 5 days already. How is it possible that the upstream providers have still not resolved it...?

They only now realized there is a real problem, they thought we all had our sim cards inserted incorrectly.

Sorry, my post is completely off-topic.
looks promising, I've used openoffice and the ideas great, but Microsoft office doesn't support it, and the more plugins i load more chance of issues. so if they going to send me files I already know wasting my time, i wish they'd check what i can open.
That is weird, I'm pretty sure I've seen Microsoft Office open OpenDocument format documents "out-of-the-box" since Office 2007 or so.

I was amazed when I found that Office 2013 can be configured to create new documents in OpenDocument format by default, but I'm not sure when that feature first appeared.

Just got a call from Cell C, the guy wanted to send me a form to detail the issue (i'm assuming its the same crap spreadsheet we all received), until I told him that ISP's have now come out and said that it is an IS issue.

It sounded like he was unaware that there was a countrywide issue with IS or that ISP's have issued notices saying that, then recommended we wait for that general issue to be sorted out first before trying to solve my issue.

Finally the fault has been acknowledge and is being looked at.

This must have been the strangest fault we have ever had in history as no one seemed to be aware of the fault.
It took a lot of help and feedback from this community to see that it was not a single problem but spread across the network.

Let's hope Cell C and IS get it sorted now quickly :)

Thank you all for your feedback and input it assisted greatly.

Regards,
Dale.
