Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Just got a call from Cell C, the guy wanted to send me a form to detail the issue (i'm assuming its the same crap spreadsheet we all received), until I told him that ISP's have now come out and said that it is an IS issue.

It sounded like he was unaware that there was a countrywide issue with IS or that ISP's have issued notices saying that, then recommended we wait for that general issue to be sorted out first before trying to solve my issue.

Call centre agent didn't even know what Cell C LTE A is when I called a few days back..

They just sent me this

I phone Axxess and bypassed the Support service, the team leaders and got to a guy Angelo.

Summary:
Me - I asked him to keep in mind that their website is really not reflecting what is going on.
Axxess - He undertook to advice 'them' to change the useless service message to a message that actually reflect that there is a CellC vs IS issue
Me - I told him that it may be a good idea to add a note or SMS to their shipping package on new deals that instruct a user to change his APN. I also had to figure that one after a few hours of non service.
Axxess - He said that they are aware of it and that he will take the suggestion forward.
Me - 'You guys are becoming famous here on my Broadband forum'
Axxess - The issue is IS and CellC are dragging their feet in coming back with the root cause and solution.
Me - Perhaps using the website and empowering your support personnel with the correct information could lead to reduced Support calls, you are really not demonstrating good management here.
Axxess - Agrees, will take is 'forward'

I asked CellC guy here to also help out in a PM a few minutes ago: 'Please post the reason behind the current CellC and IS problem and the action taken to sort it out.'

I wonder who I actually got to today? Either this Angelo guy is the only smart guy at Axxess or he is the actual boss at Axxess. Just an hour later they updated their website STATUS script to reflect the CellC / IS issue and CellC called me, even got a SMS this afternoon (sure now everybody did)!

One thing is for sure, they were not having sleepless nights about this and definitely tried to keep it 'on the low down'!

Well it sounds like IS has also admitted there is a problem.

Reply to my Axxess support ticket:
"Our upstream provider has confirmed that there is currently issues affecting the Cell C LTE services. Engineers are working tirelessly to resolve the issue at hand.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused."

Seems to be working again today. Not sure for how long it will last though...

Can somone out there with Cell C LTE please test inbound port forwarding and DMZ, I would really appreciate. Mine is not working and I can't figure out why, I want to see if this is APN related or if it is isolated to me...

Thanks

usually works fine in the mornings till the afternoon..

Shows that it may actually be a congestion issue, so where are they going to get the extra capacity at such short notice? Normally also works well from around 23:00 but peak times are a mess.

I see WEBAFRICA now has it as a 'Scheduled Maintenance'
