Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Still broken. Now sharing my bandwith with a lot more people it seems. Down to 3mbs from 47 a week ago

Getting this after I had to
Restart the router 3 times

Will try again later.

Telkom running like a breeze now!

Through can't wait for my mtn cap on 14th, windows updates destroyed it! Mtn is by far best for my area.

Would really love am mtn connection. Mtn, the better connection

Well I got my B618 router today and just set it up after 10pm tonight. Everything connected and working. Full 5 bars 4G+ connection. Speeds are up and down depending which speedtest you use but generally the upload is faster than the download and I have a ping of +300ms.

I have the B618s-22d router for a week now, and a similar experience. I am also from the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town. Only getting 1 bar, but registers as 4G. Download speed is 0.5mbps with a similar upload. The map coverage area said I was covered for LTE-A, never seen it register as 4G+. Even with the router in the roof, no difference. Seems like the APN "lte.broadband.is" could also be the problem here because my alternative Cell C SIM with the "internet" APN, I get much better speeds.

Yeah I have the same model router and now suddenly after 12am I'm getting this;
Ping: 55ms
Download: 40.87Mbps
Upload: 18.44Mbps

Also, I'm on the default internet APN. so who knows...maybe it's just network congestion?

Does it register at 4g+? Might have put the sim in my b618 then.

Using internal antenna I always had 4 bars and -93dBm @ 37mbs and using externals 5 bars and -72dBm @ 47mbs.

Now still at 7mbs on external antenna with 5 bars and -72dBm.

Any other guys in Gauteng suffering or am I the only one.

I really just want my ping to go down. Why is it so high?

Seems to be actually be working at the moment, but pings have gotten really bad. Was getting around 30-40ms, now I'm getting over 200ms

I used to get 15/28mb download and 7/11 upload with 30/33 ping

This is what i'm currently getting in JHB'.
Ping: 221ms
Download: 6.33Mbps
Upload: 12.49Mbps

I think we are talking about two different products. Now I'm also wondering if I'm in the right thread. Because there are two types of Fixed Cell C LTE products.

One product is sold from Cell C themselves (which I'm guessing use the internet APN). Another product is sold from Axxess, but the APN/upstream provider is Internet Solutions e.g. "lte.broadband.is" I can't use internet APN from Cell C with the same SIM from Axxess, because it is an Internet Solutions product.

How did you acquire yours?

I bought mine from Axxess and it worked out of the box with default settings. Only thing bugging me atm is the high ping. Can't use that for gaming. :/

Looks like instead of going to the JNB (joburg) google cdn, it's routing to MBA (mbabane?)
