I can confirm that the Cell C mobile data card is not network locked and will function with a SIM card from any network.

We have specifically selected the Novatel U740 (HSDPA. UMTS, EDGE, GPRS) data card as it offers a future proof capability. We are aware that there are EDGE only devices on the market, but we felt it prudent to offer a fully "technology" enabled card in the market.

The Cell C mobile data card is available at most Cell C stores country wide either subsidised on contract or for cash on prepaid.

We have been conducting various tests with 3G (possibly the signal mentioned earlier in this post) and complimentary technologies, but currently we do not have a viable business case for the roll out of a 3G/HSDPA network.

I do not foresee an introduction of these services in the short term.
