Cell C, MTN speed up data services

"video and audio downloads at speeds of up to 240kB a second"

Wow, now we are leading the world connection speed.

I wish the journalists can learn the difference between a "B" and a "b"

Forget about speed. The cellular networks are still far to expensive on bandwidth. R1.55 per megabyte works out to more than R1600 per gig. Noone is able to afford that kind of money for serious internet usage.

Yah i was thinking about that, don't forget its also bad latency on that link. I don't think someone will buy into cell c broadband unless they are clueless or use it for very little bandwidth. Or using it for a phone app.

R1.55 a meg, rofl, who cares whats happening with their data networks at that price.

"MTN speed up data services" - tried it last night (Pretoria East) on GPRS/EDGE and its still bloody slow. 44kbps.
