Looking to purchase a prepaid Nano Sim Card in Johannesburg for under R10.
Makro currently charge R119.00
Does anyone know offhand where to acquire a cheap nano sim.

Get it @ Game stores. Costs R5 or less. Don't take no for a answer they have nano simcards in the back by the cellular section. They keep it in the back in stock and not on display.

Thanks Cavedog!

Damn - its R10 in Durban

Yes most Cellc stores are really overpriced with their simcards. Cellc Richards Bay charges R125 for a new nano or micro simcard prepaid or contract.

Thanks Cavedog!

Cool let me know if you managed to get one there and how much you paid for it. I think it should be standard pricing at Game store no matter where you buy. I only paid 99c for mine at Game. It was a 99c for real PREPAID NANO staterpack. Its like in a small clear thick plastic packaging... Like the size of a bank card.

Will go to Game - Clearwater on the weekend.
I tried the Woolworths down the road, only standard and micro sim cards available. 99c.

I downloaded a template from Google and cut one over the weekend. Its easy to do.

I thought cutting sim cards was not allowed due to the issues people face?

I had this issue with Vodacom V&A. They said they do not cut sim cards because it is allowed under some regulation. Cutting sim cards has it's problems. If the network drops, is it your sim card or your phone? If you cannot make calls despite full network, who/what do you blame? Hence why I am not forward to going along that road

Went past Game - Clearwater on Saturday, said they were out of stock, should be getting stock in this week. went past again yesterday, still no stock.

Re: Cutting sim.
I had an iPhone 4 with a Telkom Mobile micro sim, which I wanted to fit in my iPhone 5.
I took a look at a sim cutting video, a very good look at my iPhone 5 nano sim, and cut the micro sim down with a good pair of scissors, lightly sanded the edges to fit and popped it into holder and into the iPhone 5 ....All good!
Work accurately and there will be no issues.

I took a photo of the details on the sim before starting incase I botched it and needed to do a sim swap, but it was easy.

The cards do not exist in any store here in CT. Anyway, I had to have shipped from Joburg.

Thanks everyone for your replies
