Cell C network problems

I want to jump in and say I believe MTN got the same issues at the moment with their internet browsing speed.

They must be roaming on MTN then....except MTN has had issues since the last 6 months or so. My goodness I miss Vodacom...

I'm glad that there's something in the press about this and that they're owning up to something.

But this has been an issue now, for about a week.

Not on calls, but data.
I've got a ticket open with them now for close on 4 days.
No real response or explanation for the grief.

One cannot use an Android smartphone on Edge - its impossible - not ranting - FACT!

Now customers can see why Cell C is so cheap. You pay for what you get and its so bad there call centres telling customers to roam on Vodacom's network. So much for there superior network

lol...I love people like Sponge Bob Square Pants. One small problem with a few customers and they the worst network around...

well I'm glad I have had no issues at all so far....once last week my connection slowed down a bit so just restarted my phone and getting my usual 2.2mbps speeds....in my area mtn gets speeds of around 800kbps Vodacom around 1mbps only 8ta is faster here but bounces between 2.5-6.5mbps.

Hope they can sort out the issues for those that are having problems Asap.

+1

It's refreshing to see a operator be upfront and open about their issues. Cell C is doing just fine for me. In fact, I'm looking forward to securing my next year of internet access with them (Giga 200) come next month!

They probably are the cheapest, but not the best network around. I would say, probably also the worst customer call centre after my experience with them on Saturday.

Maybe when MTN throttled their BBM network, someone also throttled the whole network!:)

Their network for data seemed very slow at some stage on Friday, but all seemed well for me over the weekend. Called their call centre twice for small questions about heir Weekend bonus and another issue, and always was helped properly and politely, over the last few days.

Couldn't phone or sms yesterday afternoon. But everything seems fine this morning.
PE area.

Sounds like CellC through and through. Crap support.

How often have Vodacom's network not experience problems? At least with Cell C you have the option to roam when there is a problem. Not so with VC.

That's true, you are getting vodacoms network at cell c prices, and if one network goes down you can always switch to the other.

What's the update on this?

Today all I had at home was Edge.
In the car to the office - all the way from Strandfontein and then along the M5 = EDGE.
Get into Century City and then Lo and Behold, HSPA+

Am I to whip out my "Don't stay in an affluent enough area" tinfoil hat?
