Cell c has responded and I for one am glad .
nice one. one up for the little guy.
Bite me Vodascum . can't wait to read your irrelevant muttering's to this new's

And to top this spectacular response to Vodascum/Mtn cell c has pulled in a record number of new customers who are mostly joining up on prepaid which means Cell c's cash flow going to be in really good shape in no time at all.

WELL DONE!!!

However, Supacharge does not apply to 66c so it's wether Supacharge at 99c or no bonuses at 66c ! :erm:

I prefer the 66c/per minute call rate and the 3GB/365days data voucher for R299. That alone will save me a ton of money.

But if your So is on Cell C too and you guys chat for hours, then Supercharge makes more sense.

Do you want the network to go bankrupt! If you not happy with what is on the table - surely Vodacom and MTN will welcome you with open hands, then you will experience high call prices, bill shockers etc. 66 cent is peanuts, cheaper to call than SMS

It actually depends on your call/data ratio.

In my case, I phone extremely little (I just checked, 38min over the last three weeks...) and mainly use data so I usually recharge 400, get 900MB of Supacharge and then buy a 3GB bundle with the 400.

The remaining airtime usually ends with OOB data !

People praising Cellc for the price drop even though there is T&C's attached to it but when Vodacom and MTN did the same people flamed them.... How does that work?

I tell you how it works. Every one has T&C's. Cell C's seem clear, straight forward and honest. Vodacom/Mtn seem like gimmicks with ridiculous opt-in's which make you feel your about to be fleeced. Cell c is building building trust while Vodacom/Mtn reminds me more of a dodgy vacuum cleaner salesman knocking on your door on a Sunday morning trying to sell you a lemon.

it hasn't happened yet but any day I'm expecting a promo like
" 10gb for R10 to use in 10min while standing on one leg & only if you opt-in using *111# "
That's Vodacom/Mtn style of T&C. They making us pay them for substandard service for grossly over priced products which they then makes us , their customer jump through hoops to try get the full value of!
case in point. Vodacom's gives us a 1gig birthday "gift" then conveniently has a network meltdown.

You speak of these sneak T&C's please point them out to me. Would love to know.

The new Cellc rate is nothing simple to get it. You need to change yout tarrif plan and doing so you disable any on net benefits AND its a promo only?

MTN 79c per minute is standard when you switch a sim pack on. No hidden t&c's. IF you want you can buy the PAYG bundles which gives you extra benefits....

Basically just like Cellc.

They all got the same sneak validity period and exclusions.

Ok. Good Point . This is how i perceive it.
Lets take Vodacoms complicated data schemes.
You have or had monthly recurring bundles & once off data bundles with different pricing. within that you have different network speeds being the standard at 3.6 & advance at 7.2 again with different pricing. On top of that you have the promo data bundles with different pricing to all the other options and then you have the dreaded out of bundle data rate. each option then has expiry date & unused data doesn't carry over. If the sms informing you that your data is about to run out doesn't come through as so often happens or you miss it the out of bundle rate kicks in and if your on prepaid in a flash all your airtime is gone. on contract you could end up with a 20k phone bill as has happened to me or your entire service softcapped/ hardcapped with a "pay first complain/rectify later" arrogance.
On contract life's is much simpler as your locked in to a package with fixed price and simply have to look on while people around seem to be getting better value than you.On prepaid if you don't watch vodacom announcements like a hawk you either end up feeling sour because you missed out on a promo or fleeced because you paid for something that gets taken away with an expiry date. Either way the end experience feels totally wrong from what's supposed to be a socially conscience company/ satisfied customer point of view.
I suppose with Cell C only recently can you say they have become a serious player in the business and therefore there pricing and T&C seem much simpler & that's probably because there list of offerings is also way much shorter.
surely you might concede then that without Cell C existing to stirr up the pot we would not be debating the merits of 66c/minute or R100/gb but ,if the way Vodacom/Mtn seem to have conducted themselves with termination rate debacle is anything to go by , still stuck on R 1,65/minute on contract , R 2,65 on prepaid and R300 for measly 500mb.

CELL C just want the OOB Shark out of the cage - they don't care if they they loose they already have grown their numbers up and now you will have to choice which package works better for you. If it is the 66cent package or supercharge 99 cent package.

Remember this is a promotion! Not sure how much profit they making on the 66 cent, but definitely it will encourage people to RICA SIM CARD and give their number to relatives on different networks. That way if they call them, it is a win, win situation

To prevent the OOB Shark coming out to play they should allow the customer to set a value limit on data example - don't exceed R20

I am happy Cell C has introduced R0.66 per minute for calls. Not happy that SupaCharge benefits will not be included with this new price plan. I read their explanation as to increasing OOB to 99c/MB, it still does not make sense, almost like avoiding the real question. Yeah I think ALL mobile operators should have the option RichardG has mentioned - setting a limit for the OOB. It was nice to see Cell C has put R2.2 Billion rand to upgrading their network...I hope we will see a significant difference from this. I would love to see some new data deals, like GigaNite 20 from Cell C.
