Cell C SIM Swap Required!

Hi Cell C Representatives,

I would like to know if I could use one of my old prepaid 2G x 12month Data SIM card phone numbers and to SIM swap for prepaid voice usage. I like the number from my old data SIM & would like to continue to use it for my new voice usage SIM card.
Is this possible?

ASk them to help you with a number change. It will change the number you like to a new or existing prepaid or contract sim.

Why not just put your old data SIM in your phone and use it?

I have tried, but unable to change it to cheaper voice services.

And customer support are useless, they can't help you.

Best to throw it away and to get a new sim.

I recall this was a problem about a year after their first specials came out, but I'm currently using an ex-12x5GB SIM for pre-paid voice on the 99c rate.

Yeah Cellc's data simcards are on the 99c for real data voice plan. It works exactly the same as the normal prepaid voice sim with one annoying difference. Free Cellc to Cellc minutes are deducted on a per minute basis and you are stuck on that price plan.

You can't change your price plan to the 66c or mega bonus price plan at all.

So its best just to get a new contract or prepaid sim and have a number change done where the number gets moved from the data simcard to the new contract or prepaid simcard.

They used to be on a R2.50 per minute plan and people couldn't change to the 99c plan, see:
