Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I purchased a cellc speedstick with data this morning.
Works fine on my laptop (Widows64bit)

But when I try to connect it to my desktop it cant find signal at all. (Windows7 64bit)

I've installed all driver software, I've been chatting with their tech support who cant help me- and I have no idea what could be wrong.
It cant be a signal issue as the laptop sits right next to the desktop.
Quite literally, as far as the CellC application is concerned - there may as well be nothing plugged into the computer at all.

Anybody experienced this issue or thinks they can help would be greatly appreciated.

Try different USB ports on your desktop. The ones at the back directly on the motherboard are able to supply more current than the ones at the front.

Close the CellC Connector: Open Computer, Eject the CellC Cd-rom, open up the Cell C Connector again and it should pick it up, device scan...

I've had this since upgrading to the new software at times.

Thanks for the quick replies
We've been doing what you suggest, and we've been reinstalling and restarting for a couple of hours now and still nothing. Program sits dead while the speedstick flashes its stupid blue light of hope at me.

Have you had any other similar modems installed on the desktop? They could interfere - uninstall all of them and only install the Cell C one.

What model modem do you have?

If you're using any USB extensions, try it without them.

If you can still see the flashing blue light, it means you've still got it plugged into one of the front ports. The stick only works in the back ports. I had the same problem, worked as soon as i plugged it into the back.

It also doesn't like any other connection software installed. It's jealous that way.

Good Day jiM80

Try the back port as well, try upgrade the driver.
on the Cell C Website you can download the Win 64 bit driver give that a shoot and let me know.

Regards
Armando

Thanks for the recommendations - havent had much time to try mess with it - currently if i need net im just bridging the connection from my laptop :).
Am planning on buying the Myzone router tomorrow- which should alleviate the problem anyway.
