On a regular basis I check my usage patterns on cell c dashboard (self service) remaining data 98 meg, switched on the device with the current sim card (remaining data 98 meg)and checked current usage on the MiFi 1 meg used but now cell c dashboard displays 76 meg. Just like that cell c took 20 meg of data, have heard about this before but never thought it was possible.

I am now gonna be hawk monitoring my usage daily with different apps. Just loaded cell c website , nothing else was running in the background

I agree with you 100% i have a pay as you go data. Although they have cheap data they make up the difference by stealing the airtime. When I went into a Cell C store i asked them to put a cap on it when data ran out I was told it is not possible. Makes you think are they ethical?

No problems with prepaid on Giga200. On Vodacom contract statistics were inconsistent, sometimes updated 24 hours later (especially on the end of month).

Haven't noticed my data disappearing either. My router statistics are almost exactly the same as what their site is reporting.

Do you have an Android device on your network? Google play services updates itself regularly without asking you, and you can't stop it.

I have disabled everything! I learnt from previous experience to not allow anything to synchronizaze. Example a friend purchased WhatsApp Bundle for R7,50, and her airtime just vanished R100. I even checked to make sure her phone isn't synchroniz with anything...

My monthly invoice got generated today damn over 20, pages long and over 1400, internet dial up session gosh

One thing to be aware of...

The networks don't bill in bits or bytes, they use a minimum size i think of 5 or 10kb... so if you have something just using 1kb per session, you will "use" more than that according to the networks.

That's the itemized billing mmeasured in kilobyes and session time
It remains a question why is so many sessions?
You are getting billed minimum amount every time PDP session is opened and closed. From your log it happens every few minutes. Unless you close session manually (which I advice to not do it), you should investigate it. Are you using Windows 10? Normally it happens when modem is completely loosing network coverage.

If background data isn't disabled, something is going to run.

Easier for people to blame the networks than background services on their phones.
It is not about background services, but constant dropping network connection. It could be network itself (unlikely, as recently is very stable), faulty modem firmware or power management issues turning off essential hardware required to keep connection online. The last two could be internal modem/phone issues. The last one could be a poor driver (as suggested before).
