Cell C backtracks on 90Mbps LTE claim

Cell C’s claim that it offers LTE download speeds of up to 90Mbps resulted in an ASA complaint, causing the company to backtrack.

Well obviously if you have a rubbish backbone/equipment from the tower then you will get poor speeds.

Does anyone know what or how many strands of fibre a tower uses as its backbone?

Wasn't a Vodacom case but, in general, the ASA frowns upon "up to" claims if the hypothetical reasonable person can't get the claimed service.

You'll notice very few such claims by any network provider and correctly show.

BTW, the Vodacom supports LTE speeds in excess of 200Mb/s.
