Cell C to Vodacom roaming

I have a data contract with cell c that came with a hauwei router. It's R99 per month for 5gb daytime data and 15gb night. The problem is that the network speed from cell c is just terrible. Especially when using instant messaging. messages take a few seconds or even longer to go through (H / H+ issues). Browsing the web or updating apps is a nightmare! Frustrating AF!!!

So I put the sim in an old phone and forced roaming on vodacom 3G. This works almost perfectly. If I switch back to cell c on the phone, it's pretty much useless.

So is there any other cost involved with roaming on Vodacom? I asked on cell c facebook page but no reply. They replied to my complaint about the terrible network, but not the question about roaming charges. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

My fnb sim is locked to Vodacom as well

There are charges to cellc, but not to you. And I think you can consider yourself lucky - try as I may, I can't roam to Vodacom at all in my area.
According to the cellc call center agent, they canned the roaming in certain areas.

I should've just stuck with afrihost for my data. Still with them but only 1gb per month.
Cell C is just shocking really. I honestly never expected it to be such a low quality network.

I had the same problem when I bought a new Data pack.

I reported it online, give them the required information and within 10 minutes my connection was running smoothly without them phoning me. they will phone you afterwards to find out if everything is A OK.

Their service is excellent.

There are no additional costs as we have a roaming partnership with them.

Have you been assisted with the network issue?

I have the same problem. My router settings are on “allow to roam” but it never roams. My connection is always on “Edge”. It’s so frustrating. Can someone please help me with this.
