Been a CellC prepaid user for about a decade but with missed calls, very bad call quality and my usual areas going from good 3g connections and speeds to pray as you go wooooshlessness, when my SIM expires at the end of this month I'm seriously thinking of trying 8ta for data and Vodacom for prepaid.

Seems you've had a bad experience - my CellC service has been great. Where are you based so perhaps you can get feedback from your area...

I live in cape town, wynberg.I get great reception from other operators.Yes,i understand there could be random disconnections or loss of signal due to "upgrades" but lately its gone from crap to kak.I called customer care and their common response is that they are busy attending to the problem;for the last two months?!

Instead of just telling us the problem this schitbrick goes on an immature rant wasting precious 1's and 0's.
Get a life man.

A small part of my life consists of standing up for what i'm paying for and if its crap,i have the right to say Hey,this is bullsh*t

Call 140 again and tell them straight away that you want to speak to a network coverage specialist. If you get told 'I am a specialist' then ask to speak to the call centre manager and state your case.

I phoned them now and the supervisor advised me to call tomorrow as their technical team are only available weekdays to deal with my problem, and to to soothe me ,he related that they are "currently busy with maintenance" which is why i'm experiencing problems. He had no plausible answer as to how maintenance could continue for the past 2 months.Tomorrow i'll phone them again and get the same rubbish about requesting new data settings...

A few days in Cell c language means:Next complaint please.
I heard that one and they never got back to me.
How can a company get away with rubbish like this?
I have filed a complaint on hellopeter and hope some suit will tell me the lies i should hear, and after it still has not been resolved,i will take it further.
They,Cell C,cannot get away with their nonsense.
My God,send a Cell C tech guy to my house and i'll show him how i connect ANY provider from ANY electronic item in my house.
Thyen ,i'll put in their Cell C sim,and the monkey can show me how he gets ANY CONSISTENT SIGNAL from Cellc.
Sorry for ranting,i'm just so pissed that companies can get away with ripping off customers.

So you expect them to roll out millions of rands worth of infrastructure to cover a tiny deadzone that your house happens to be located in? I get perfectly fine signal when I'm in Wynberg. Aweh. You should have done a prepaid sim test before buying your internets from them, as everyone should when making a mobile internets decision.

Got 2 phone calls this morning, coming at 2pm tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do.
Over the phone they explained that it looked like I'm in the middle of two towers and on the edge of there signal. Also told me that due to municipality regulations and EIA it's problem to put up towers. But there is one going up near by in 6 months.. Will see what the techi tomorrow can do.

WELL DONE CELL C!!:D Came to my house yesterday ran some tests, went and did some modifications to 2 towers, voila! Before Phone pretty much sat at no signal and if some one tried to call me it would go straight to voice mail. Can now walk around the house without even disconnecting.

Very Very Impressed!

O, is that why mine is suddenly not working? 'Stealing' from Peter to pay Paul.

Only joking, but that's what happens.

Well according to them they have never optimized those 2 towers since the were installed, also they won't adjust a tower If they can see it is going to effect other users.
