Cell C's empty promises

Throw a fit in the store. If the dates on the papers say its within 7 days, then don't accept a repair job. Tell em u don't want the faulty phone and they HAVE to give u a new one. Quote CPA. Also, with MTN that is 10 working days. I thought all should be the same?

Thanks for the info - Cell C rep, any comment?

I hope you have better luck than I did with them. My service was awful even after complaining on the forums and hello peter.

if a unit is faulty within seven days, GET it REPLACED, NOT REPAIRED, end of story, simple test, go to same store, flash a wallet, say you wanna buy same handset and are willing to sign a contract on the spot, if they agree, uitgevang, thats nonsense that, you're very patient i tell you, id make a moerse scene, you still getting a faulty unit back, just fixed?

PM the Cell C rep, let him organize a new handset for you. Mostly situations like these are caused by stupid salespeople who are unable to take any initiative.

On mtn about 2 years ago : got a moto milestone. Used it for a few days. Notice it gets so hot after a few minutes of use that could barely hold the thing. Also battery drained in 1 hour. Took it back to mtn on the 7th day. The rep called their tech deprtment to confirm if it. Is 'unusual' for this to happen :)(more procedure than anything). Then took my old phone and gave me a brand new unit. No hassles.

*Update*
Apparently the 'phone is booked in for repairs' SMS is standard and they are replacing it with a new handset. It's a waiting game though since they don't have local stock and it seems their JHB based tech guys wanted to look at it first.

So over a week later my phone is still with Cell C. Just before I took it back to them I ordered a silicon pouch from Hong Kong. The pouch arrived in the post today. Cell C are still waiting for my replacement phone from Joburg.

ROFL!

I'm thinking of doing that since its a mission getting a pouch let along a protective cover for my phone, how did you get that right?

Like who did you order from and how much was it (shipping inclusive) ?

Believe it or not, $2-50 including shipping!
There are so many on ebay, take a look at these results:

HTC Leaf in 4 Ways gave me a brand new phone a year after I bought it. That's good service.

Not bad at all! I'm STILL WAITING for Cell C. It's been a week and a half going on two without a phone after picking up a brand new DUD from cell C. This is how it is with Cell C peeps - all I can suggest is barge pole. This is the last deal I get suckered into with them. I've been through the same with MTN. Next I'm trying Vodacom. I don't expect better but I'm going to have to change on principal.
