Broke Cell C achieves top BEE rating

Cell C has announced that it has achieved level 1 Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) contributor status.

“We achieved this milestone through a focused transformation strategy that was premised on delivering meaningful empowerment and going beyond compliance,” Cell C said.
 
Aside from Cell C being clueless for over a decade now I have to wonder how they manage to keep getting billions invested in them every begging bowl cycle.

There is clearly way too many rich investment firms who should not have access to investment funds, not even 1c.
 
One day in the history books someone might just put one and one together ....

Come now, Cell C was doomed from the beginning, BBBEE is getting dragged in the mud here.

They should have sold to Telkom. If they still have brains they should sell the business to someone with the big bucks, provided someone still sees value in them.
 
No one gives 2 craps about a company's BBBEE rating. Makes me want to puke when a company plasters their rating all over their website as if it's something to be proud of. Like it's a good thing to be part of an extortion racket.
 
This has to be one of the worst reads ever...............we broke, but we BEE copmpliant........and thats what matters most
 
The African way, who cares if you're broke, as long as you're compliant.
