Cell Refusing to Block my Sim and Phone

I was mugged on the 25th of December 2021 and my insurance company is requesting I block the sim and phone but Cell C is refusing they asking about the last recharge history.

Who in their mind keeps track of recharge amounts and dates.

Surely you just need a affadavit/case number from the cops saying that you have been relieved of your cell phone? By not blacklisting they are simply aiding the criminals ...?
