What number sequences are required for persons who insist on having their phones send private number :( do the various networks use, so that the gate will know that that number is registered with the gate, please these thoughtless (IMO) people can open the gate with a speed dial. You want to phone me, call me from a number which, I can call you back on, or don't bother - I don't anwser private number calls.

Afaik only Interphone gate stations can be programmed with a caller recognition facility, but I have never bothered to use it since it creates extra work for the body corporate when someone moves, especially in a big complex. Normally, if a visitor is leaving, the tenant dials the telephone number attached to the intercom and presses "9" to operate the gate motor. Sometimes, it also needs a signal from the loop detector on the inside to start the gate motor. If the call originates from the door station, then the tenant just presses "9" on his phone to start the gate motor.

Is this what you were wanting to know?

I'm not even sure if he's asking anthing, seems like more of a rant than a question.

For Centurion Cell-To-Gate, you give what is effectively, a missed call -with the proviso, that the phone making the call must have a minimum of R1.00 loaded on it's SIM card, and that the phone does not have sending of private number enabled. The device on the gate motor has the allowed number loaded on it, if the number that dials the gate, matches a number registered on the device the gate opens. Otherwise nothing happens. So those uninformed souls who think they are being clever with private numbers, need to dial something like "*140*number" to be able to open the gate without disabling private number on their phones entirely.
