I have a pinnacle 600 cellc contract and keep running out of data.

On the CellC app I noticed you can buy a 10gb data bundle valid for 365 days for R599.

It however seems to only be available for prepaid...

Does anyone know if there is a way to load this on a contract?

Hi Duan

Thank you for contacting Cell C.

We have received your enquiry regarding the 10GB that is valid for 365 days, you can only load the bundle if your are on prepaid and on a Top Up contract.

Care to explain why you are penalizing loyal contract customers?

Cell_C, can you please assist me with data that run out withing a month or so. I also bought the 10G on prepaid and was under the impression that it is valid for a year.

Cool !

I have a secondary pre-paid Cell C sim in my phone, will be useful as backup data, once the data on my main sim has been used up.

Its not cool, its ridiculous that you have to have 2 sims to perform one function.

Moreover there is only one logical reason to do this... to screw the contract customer.

Sure, but that is how it works.

My main sim is a Vodacom contract sim, but you can't get reasonably priced voice and data on any Vodacom contract sim, so they force you to use two sims.

Vodacom also disables dual sim usage on any phone that they supply, so they try to stop you from doing this, so they literally force you to buy dual sim phones from third parties. In my case I bought a One Plus 5 cash.

R599 for 10gb is insane!!

Yes, but it is valid for a year. For certain applications, that is attractive.

I get 5GB per month from Vodacom, but when that runs out it is useful to have more data instantly available on my second sim, so it works for me.

Very easy to blow that 10gb before you know it. I think the FreeMe TopUp offers more value, assuming if you have coverage.

500mb and free Telkom calls for R70.

CellC also actually has a R299 (iirc) for 3GB, also valid for a year. for some reason they do not make it available for purchase online. pretty sneaky if you ask me. you have to go to a CellC shop and they will load it for you.
needed a new data sim for a tablet the other day - that's how i found out.
