I will be signing up tomorrow.:D

How does the bandwidth useage work?
Will I be given 5gig this month until month end ?

Is my first month effective next month ?:wtf:
 
is uploading counted as well?
i would expect to be uploading max 50-75 MB monthly- will they subtract that from my usage as well?
 
Do you get allocated 5gig/month or 60gig/annum?
What happens to unused data for that specific month?
Does it get carried over or do you forfeit it?
How does it work?

I'll use my case as an example. I bought the 5GB special today. I will be getting 5GB "free" for this month (November). Then the 5GB per month allocation I paid for starts next month (December to next year December). So all in all, you will get 65GB! :)

hmmm....that sounds great. Just make sure you use the entire bundle

The Sales Rep mentioned that unused data gets forfeited so no carry over.
 
@On the dongle box it says 60gig+modem+sim and then it says 5gig/month with an asterisk so I confused as to how the data is actually presented.

So then you have to use exactly 5GB per month to avoid 'losing' any data? That's rather stupid imo.
 
Oh yes how do you check how much data you have used/data you have left for that specific month.Imsure there's a thread that handles these questions but I can't seem to find it.

On the Cell C monitor, Click on "Services" and type in *101# and send or click on "Balance Enquiry & Recharge"

Assuming you've installed the software already, you can click on the "Services" icon then "Balance Enquiry & Recharge." Otherwise, you can click the "Statistics" Icon to see your daily/Monthly/Yearly usage.
 
@madhawk.Thanks.I think the best is to you your data as normal and leave heavy data like software and torrents for the last couple of days of the month.
 
@siba.Thanks.Got my dongle on Wednesday but installed it late last night so didn't check the finer details.

Better start queing up stuff you want off torrents...

BTW..any idea if CELLCis going have a problem with downloading via torrents ????
 
@singhdude.I read here somewhere that as soon as CellC smells a torrent you get shaped.Maybe someone else can confirm.I'm not a fan of torrents so it makes no difference,ill blow my data excess on Youtube or something.
