No data carries over.

No shaping as far as I can tell.

Tend to burn through it quite quickly because of the speed

Not that I know of, you can buy airtime using the normal channels (prepaid voucher, internet/cellphone banking) for the phone number and convert that to a data bundle, read the cell c website for instructions.

I'll use my case as an example. I bought the 5GB special today. I will be getting 5GB "free" for this month (November). Then the 5GB per month allocation I paid for starts next month (December to next year December). So all in all, you will get 65GB!

No you get 2GB free for the first month if you took the 2GB deal.

Think you lucked out and they provisioned the wrong service to your SIM card. If so congrats and if not facepalm yourself.

This is what I'd like to know as well.
I've been wondering if it's possible to port my number to CellC and have the data loaded on the sim in the phone.

What I found out on Friday was that you would basically be on Easy Chat (think that is what they said), which does not include any free minutes or anything and call rates are at R1.50.
