+1 and when I sent back "Stop" I got a further 3 SMS in the next hour, so I sent Stop again, and was informed I was already opted out?

On android devices you can create rules like in outlook. I just add all SMS from these numbers to the spam rule.

This reminds me of the competition that VC had running long time ago and if not mistaken once AKC took over these competitions have come to light. People are big money spenders I am sure people are rocking up R2000+ bills on this competition.
