CellC. How the hell do you have customers?

I think they're all waiting for their contracts to expire so they can port. :D
 
Can understand Datura's frustration; we've been trying to set up voicemail on their 074 numbers but had no luck so far. Not even their customer service ppl can help - they just give you a standard response ( dial this number then press that option to set up voicemail ). What part of "I've tried that and it didn't work" didn't they get ?
 
Tried setting up Cell C Transfer. You have to do it web-based. I get an error on the last step, which says i have to contact customer care. I contact customer care, they tell me to log onto the website to activate the service. I tell them i have, and it doesn't work. They tell me then i haven't logged on properly, i should make sure i entered my pin number correctly. And no matter how much i try explaining what i have done, this chick is adament that i either haven't logged on properly, or haven't even registered yet.

Seriously now...
 
Ok it is now one week of frustrationg trying to set up VOICE MAIL!!!! Come on people. Get it together. I work with cell phones and so do the people around me. It takes me 45 seconds to set up a VM box on VC prepaid and the fact that the woman giving the instructions on the CellC setup (Stryke or something is her name) is so annoying doesn't help matters much. I am at a loss. Tried everything she said, tried everything the customer care told me and still no mail box. What the hell is up with this. It is an option included and it is not working. Absolute rubbish!
 
Does CellC have a representative on this forum, or are they like Telkom?? :confused:

You would think they care about their customers, with all the fancy ads?
 
I have no idea man. I had customer care hang up on one of us yesterday, had a message telling us customer care was closed for a while. One guy Colin was Great really the rest were horrid. It is weekend and we desperately need the voice mail activated on these cards for work. No problem on the 084 number range but on the 074 number range nothing is working. Don't they test their products? Would recommend a team for them but I don't think they will last very long.
EDIT: Them being CellC. Mind you, incompetence seems to go a loooooong way in this country these days. Sickening.

Isn't 074 Virgin? If so there were a couple of email addresses posted here a while ago. Cell C did/does have a rep but they haven't appeared for a while, never did much.

0741 is Virgin; from 0742 onward it's CellC; we actually bought the sims from a CellC outlet. Their information booklet tells you jack about how to set up your voicemail; their website isn't much help either.

Yeah they're beyond useless I think.
 
Been sitting on hold for ages now with this rubbsh music playing and then the line just drops. I am gonna lose it with this lot soon! Dialed 084140 pressed 1, then chose "activate services", then chose "activate voice mail" and got bloody bad traditional african hold music and then "Boopboopboop" dead! WTF?!?
 
Hate that place actually. But shot. I am enjoying my rant here. Keeps me focused on the task. Got a "Gerald" on the line. He seems to be putting me on hold more than anything else but is very friendly and may just be able to help. ~Holds thumbs~

I know but it seems to get results if nothing else. It always seems hopeful till they transfer you into some black hole.
 
So why don't you just buy MTN or Vodacom simcards? 99c at Pick&Pay for MTN Pay-as-you-Go simcards.
 
Hey Vern, you dig Hellopeter. Don't you want to please log this complaint there. Gerald was friendly but didn't help very much. Told me to do the **62*145#. Doesn't realise we're testers and know how to work through our options backwards until we've ripped them to pieces. argh. I give dude. Seriously. I need to get back to more serious stuff. This is just wasting my time. Now I have to sit and answer calls all weekend. :( . Dude give your card to someone else to answer this weekend and try do as little as possible so you can enjoy some of your bday :D
