Cellc New Epic deals

I have a existing Cellc open line contract I got my iPhone 5 with. I was not thinking about renewing my contract in fact I cancelled all my other contracts I had and only have a MTN prepaid sim now.

When I saw the Epic deals I was like meh nothing to see moving along until I saw they are offering R100 off if you upgrade.

How would that work then? Would then? Would it make the Epic100 and Epic150 deals free then? Lol that does not make sense? :erm:

That's a pretty sweet deal then. Probably to make up for the credit buy out you aren't getting when coming from another network.

So assuming you don't make any calls I'd assume the smaller ones are free.

That is what I want to know.... So lets say I get R100 off then the Epic 350 deal will actually cost me R229 - R100 off for upgrading so that is a total of R129 for the sim only plan so if I would add a device with that it will be much cheaper than any other operator out there and will make it actually worth upgrading for because the Epic 350 and above is actually not that bad of a deal Voice wise as it is +- 3hours of voice to any network if you don't use data.

The R100 credit incentive is ones off, added to your first invoice.

Wouldn't trust them.... they might change the terms anytime and you might actually end up paying more once you are in contract....:p

S6 EDGE 64GB on Epic 150 for R749 so even if I get my R100 month rebate it will only be R649 which is still not that great of a deal.

Don't understand how that can actually work out though. The sim only option is R99 per month. So according to Cellc the device is R650 per month? :confused: Cellc trying to trick us here....

Also work in interest for bad debts.

650*22=R14300

Sounds about right if you look at Vodascum pricing.

But in terms of value for money with the Package you are better off with Vodacom then.

Epic 150 only gives like 81min if you don't use data because data is 99c per mb on that R150 airtime is nothing then.....
 
Prepaid is seriously expensive... My contract used to be R400 for an S4 plus 100mins, 100sms and 1Gb data, I would spend an extra R100 a month. So around R500 a month total.

Its the 15th, I've spent around R500 already just on airtime :(

I totally LIED to you. I just read the T&C's again those are Out of Bundle rates. My bad looking for the charged rates now. :o

There is absolutely no information how the Epic inclusive airtime is being consumed.

Disregarding the price war, anyone thought of network availability? I live by the south east and travel to north and/or west of Joburg all the time. I have contract from all 3 networks, and CellC is unsurprisingly crap with the signal. At certain spot in Sandton, where vodacom has LTE on full strength, but CellC can't receive any signal. On the same note, MTN is doing just fine with all aspect: average reception, average speed, average coverage.

On that note what is the best way to cancel you cell C contract..?

Both MTN and CellC are company contracts :) there's not much option to play around. But I'm trying to migrate to Vodacom with the same number though.

Sorry, please ignore the above post, because I read it wrong. I have 4 months left on the contract, and there are limited options regarding early cancellation. If you took a phone with the contract which still needs to be paid off, then you gotta pay the remaining cost of the phone in 1 go, then there's an early cancellation penalty. I don't know how it works with CellC, but MTN charges a lot. Currently I'm waiting on the contract to fully end, then port the number to Vodacom.
