cellc speedstick and gmail weirdness

Hi,

I might be the only person experiencing this, but it is really weird. I have the 60Gb woooosh package from cellc. I browse away happily and the speeds are great. However, when I login into my gmail account, using Firefox, Safari or Opera, unless I choose the basic html login as it is busy loading, my dongle gets disconnected. This only happens with gmail. I can not browse anything else and need to pull out the dongle and re-insert it and then re-connect.

Anybody else experienced this? Cellc, any ideas?
 
That's very weird! My gmail definitely works with my speedstick and in non-html-only mode.
 
Gmail works fine.
Maybe your modem does not like gmail :p
 
mmm....at the moment if its a choice between gmail and the modem, I will stick with wooosh and download my mail using thunderbird. Just a bit of an annoyance which didnt make sense.
 
Have you tried your speedstick in another computer? Also, try opening gmail in the three browsers you mentioned on you computer but with a different internet connection, maybe another CellC speedstick.
There must be a good explanation for this.
 
What antivirus u gt? perhaps there could b a virus that is interfering with your Gmail.
 
my Gmail is working perfectly for me, did you try update your firefox/java and flash better yet try uninstall your all of your browsers and try install them again one by one.
 
same issue(white modem)until I changed usb ports,heating problem gone,disconnecting problem gone,gmail problem also gone,seems like these modems are very sensitive,was using a mtn 3g modem before this one and had absolutely no problems for 2 years

sounds like a stupid question but have you tried accessing your gmail with explorer or google chrome? i also don't have a problem and i have the 24gb package. the other servers might be a problem with gmail i don't know. but yeah, that does sound very strange. i did have an episode of my dongle disconnecting when i was on a certain site, i think it was youtube. also had to remove and re-insert the modem.

Maybe try and update to the latest version of your browser, also try disabling any browser addons if you have any installed....also try using explorer 9 as test... really weird!
