Because EmptyN's uncapped is till January on a 24month contract after January their uncapped will be back to the fake uncapped (3GB or 10GB before being throttled to hell) it's a trick

ya i knw but the fact is the network can handle a uncapped for four months. Why cant cellc do the same and maybe throttle us at 50gb coz 3gb is like nothing !

Their network can handle a small amount of stupid people signing up for 4 months of uncapped and paying for 24...

Because uncapped over 3G is not sustainable, nor is it feasible.

If you get uncapped 3G, then you'll get the "spoilers" who'll download 24x7 (in other words, abuse the networks) and degrade the service for the other users.

Rather get uncapped ADSL.

Honestly I would be happy with a R89 service that runs full speed for 100 mb then slows down to 256k for my phone.

They can ban torrents and large file downloads that I don't mind but I want unlimited on device browsing and mail without having to go with a blackberry and its substandard hardware.

Haha. Rather bond adsl to get 20mbps than pay so much for uncapped mobile.

The truth is that mobile uncapped isn't popular around the world as fixed line is very cheap and fast in other countries.

I don't want uncapped but I want better packages from Cell C otherwise I will go to 8ta when my contract ends at the end of the year. How long has the 8ta 10gig plus 10gig at night been available, months, come on cell c get your head out of your butt and do something!

meh

You should tehn rather go to 8ta and see how happy you will be with a 24 month contract (and very little coverage accross the country). I agree, if you are mostly at home get uncapped ADSL but if you want to be able to surf around the country, at high speed and with enough data, nothing can beat CellC's 5GB 12 month deal...

HI All

So just for interest.
what size data would you guys like?
Like it has been shown 100GB would cost and uncapped, you would get people abusing it.
We have 10 / 20 GB, what would you think about a 50 GB ?
Just like to hear your opinions.

Personally it would be be depend on the price CellC would charge for a 50 gig package. I don't think it will be cheap.

But why not bring up a discussion about an uncapped product similar to the MTN uncapped deal. But instead of throttling the crap out of it at 128kbps bring in a higher throttled speed 348K similar to adsl. Your total usage at that speed would be between 40 and 50 gig over the whole month. With a cost similar to adsl.

Would any uncapped offer be to much for a mobile operator to handle?

Edit: 348K is dead slow :p

8ta has great coverage all over I've been testing it. Maybe unless your staying in twee blikies fontein or something? Yes you have the packages, but compare them pricewise? Speed seems perfectly fine to me.

20gigs a month 8ta (yes 10gigs at night but that's what a download manager is for) R199 pm
10 gigs Cell C R416pm

As much as I hate Telscum(telkom) I have to admit it is a pretty good offer if you live in an urban area/suburb, rural I wouldn't know. If Cell C doesn't start to offer more more competitive pricing (or come up with some sort of promotion) they are going to be left in the dust. They've already left it so long, it is almost shameful.
