Hi all.

I just thought I'd share my CellC experience with you guys.

I took the decision recently to change from my current data SP due to there data billing system enabling them to be legal thieves.


I've been to 2 CellC stores continuesly since Friday and they have no prepaid data sims in stock. The point to remember is these are up front payments of either R999 or R1999 for the 24Gb and 60Gb sims. It already baffles me that 2 stores don't have stock but it gets worse when I realise that I practically have to beg for them to take my money.

I then tried the customer service line- All you hear is Trevor's voice saying eish every 10 seconds for 10 minutes while my cellphpne bill is adding like a progressive jackpot. Needless to say I hung up the phone. The only silver lining to this dark cloud is the fact that I realised how much their service sucks before I got the sim card. I feel truly sorry for people that have to put up with that service because they bound by their contracts.

In our wireless broadband world that is South Africa, ethics are non-existant, sevice is poor if you manage to get any and the industry needs a serious cleanup.

The only way I see for the future for me is to extend my middle finger and get rid of my mobile internet usage all together. We all work hard for our money and these companies need to do their best to get us to part with it. Sadly this isn't the case, so no support from my side will be forthcoming. Cellc with their "Tell Trevor" campaign is just smoke and mirrors.

I hope this post saves someone from going through the same.

l went to various cell shops and game for that matter. Only cellc shops can sell the sims without the modems.

Welcome to the club dude. They seriously suck ass when it comes to customer support and just being friendly at all.

Hi,

Just an update that is worth mentioning.

David from Cell C has come to the party in trying to sort out how the customers feel about CellC. As an apology and to correct my negative perception, CellC has couriered a complimentary 2GB data sim to my house. Big ups to CellC for making the effort to change my perception. This already trumps the other Cell providers hands down.

They gave u 2GB data sim, gave me 1GB data.
No fair. Double standards.
And they just getting worse.

Jip david tried to help me too... But there seems to be a problem on the network. Thanks for the help dave..if network issues sorted and psn works again i would gladly go cell c again

The point is that they the only provider that is actually interested in the customers opinion. Credit should be given where it's due.

funkzar - sorry to hear about your ordeal trying to locate a data sim card but by you expressing how you feel turned out to be a good thing and receiving complementary 2GB Sim card, use the data wisely 2gig doesn't get you far if you going to be on youtube. I avoid streaming at all cost ;) HAPPY Woooooshing days.
