Cellphone banking kidnapping

That's not simply outlook and attitude at all. It's not ordinary either. That does happen to people, but to most, not so much.
It absolutely has to do with outlook and attitude. You're not getting anywhere with the wrong outlook or attitude.
If you know you can do it, you're half-way there and sitting on your ass feeling sorry for yourself has the double whammy of keeping you on your ass feeling sorry for yourself.
This is why sociopaths do so well in business alot of the time. They don't get held back by what ifs as much as the rest of us.

A good outlook isn't going to land you in the same boat as your friend, who is an extreme example.

I do agree that negativity and perceived victimhood will hamper you.

So your "guy that you know" managed to do it. Great. It's an exception, not the norm.
Not everyone has the same opportunities to rebuild quickly, regardless of attitude.
Most people spend years building up wealth iteratively and cannot reproduce that.

Ok lol

It’ll save you from an early grave too. Besides, attitude is everything. You can have it all and be miserable or have little and be happy. Fact.

Yeah, the only thing you can do is hide the App if your phone supports it? As someone who was already kidnapped, this is pretty worrying.

Google not working for you?

If you've saved well for a long time and that money is stolen, you can't "just get it again".
Loss of money can end the wellbeing of your family as effectively as if you get killed.
Financially speaking having savings and investments cleared out would be much worse than me getting killed. I have insurance to cover the latter scenario.

There is essentially no way any ordinary person can recover from having their savings wiped out at age 50. They'd have to magically acquire significant new sources of income to have the extra money needed to replenish what they lost while also continuing to save what they were saving every month.

Most of the time wealthy people simply are not impacted in the same way by a major financial loss, both because their total wealth is already in a different league and they inherently have major opportunities to accumulate more wealth.

You'll find some research claiming health and longevity benefits, but they invariably show only correlation. The linked articles notably present no evidence whatsoever for the claims of a causal link between attitude and health. You can then find other studies demonstrating negative consequences due to having a constant positive attitude.

Hidden folders are pretty much useless. The perp will find it and demand the password with a knife halfway into your upper leg.

The devs of the banking app could create a feature where typing in the wrong password takes you to a bank account with minimal but plausible balance while completely hiding access to your true account. And just for kicks dispatch police to your location. How hard can it be?

You would think that banks would do something about it, nope. Crime benefits banks because now the client has to take an emergency loan to survive the rest of the months to follow. The bank will send you thoughts and prayers and 22% interest on your new loan.
