Cellphone calls during airline flights rules outdated

A bunch of stupid whining from those opposed.

“It’s the airplane itself, ironically, that is often the most quiet and peaceful part of the air travel experience. Is that about to change?”
I'd love to know what aircraft this nitwit has been flying on. The ones we use have these loud things called engines and who knows what else producing a constant, loud drone throughout the flight.

“Unlike the ability to use their personal electronics and Wi-Fi from gate to gate, passengers don’t want this,” he added. “The constant chatter of passengers on their mobile phones has the potential to further increase tension among already stressed-out passengers. It will be a catalyst for increased cases of ‘air rage.’”
So who is going to be using their phone if passengers don't want this, and are we to believe that currently passengers sit quietly for the entire flight, but now they are instead going to talk constantly on their phone?

“Passengers overwhelmingly reject cellphone use in the aircraft cabin. The FCC should not proceed with this proposal,”
So changing the rules won't make any difference then will it?

Flight attendants and others have worried that a plane full of chattering passengers could lead to arguments and undermine safety.
I've never been on one of these silent aircraft where everyone sits without talking for the entire flight. I find it hard to believe that US passengers typically sit with their mouths shut for the whole flight. If they do though how do flight attendants enforce this silence, lest someone's chattering lead to mayhem and murder?
